About K.O. Morgan

Kim Morgan is a professional writing consultant, and a writer and editor of magazine articles, mini books, bank bios, advertising and marketing copy, research and encyclopedia volumes, astrology calendars and mini mags, newsletters, and white papers.  She writes under the name, K.O. Morgan, although her clients often call her “The Comma Queen.”

Kim’s first interest in writing piqued when her 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Raulerson, gave the class a short story assignment. Kim’s story was the one that was picked to be read to the class.

At 15, she began writing poetry, but was stung when some of her fellow classmates refused to believe she was the true author of a poem she had written for her school paper. In 12th grade, her creative writing teacher, Glenn Heyward, took a special interest in her writing. When he asked her if she had ever considered being a writer, he took her secret dream and gave it wings.

Kim attended Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri, where she immersed herself in as many different kinds of writing classes as time would allow. She graduated with a B.A. in English with a concentration in writing.

From there, she moved to Chicago, where she worked in advertising, marketing and publishing. Five years later, she moved to Florida, where she reunited with her high school sweetheart. While in Florida, she wrote op-ed pieces, and worked in the public relations and humane education department of Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control. She began freelancing full time in 1994, writing magazine articles, astrology mini mags and calendars, bank bios, and brochures.

Today, Kim lives with her husband, daughter, two cats and a dog in Hampton Roads, Virginia, near historic Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown Settlement.
